Visit Our Church
Welcome Home to Pleasant Street United Methodist Church
A Church with History, Heart, and a Future You Can Help Shape
Whether you’re brand new to faith, returning after time away, or searching for a place where your heart can belong—we’re so glad you found us.
We know visiting a new church for the first time can feel a little overwhelming. But we want you to know this: you’re already welcome here. Our hope is that from the moment you walk through our doors, you’ll feel a sense of peace, belonging, and maybe even a spark of excitement—because we believe God brought you here for a reason.
Pleasant Street United Methodist Church is a multigenerational congregation with deep roots in Waterville and an open-hearted vision for what’s next. We’re praying boldly for a new wave of believers—especially young adults, young families, and next-generation leaders—who want to grow something meaningful, vibrant, and Christ-centered right here with us.
If you’re longing to make a difference in a community that truly cares, you may have just found your new church home.
What to Expect When You Visit
We’re located at 61 Pleasant Street in Waterville, and you’re invited to come exactly as you are. There’s no dress code here—on any given Sunday, you’ll find folks in jeans, dresses, hoodies, or suits. Wear what makes you feel comfortable and come ready to be welcomed.
When you arrive, look for the Welcome Table in the upper-level lobby. There you’ll find helpful brochures, info about our small groups and ministries, and friendly people who can answer any questions. If you get turned around in our building, don’t hesitate to ask—we love helping new folks find their way.
Need assistance? We’re fully wheelchair accessible, with handicap parking by the food bank and a drive-through portico for convenient drop-offs in bad weather.
Sunday Morning Worship Services
8:00 AM – Chapel Service (Labor Day to Father’s Day)
This peaceful, traditional-style service is held in our intimate second-floor chapel and lasts about 30 minutes. A greeter will be there to welcome you warmly. Communion is celebrated on the first Sunday of each month, and everyone is welcome at the Lord’s Table—no exceptions. We offer grape juice and gluten-free bread, so just let us know your preference.
9:30 AM – Sanctuary Service (Year-Round)
Our 9:30 service brings our whole church family together—young and old, lifelong members and first-time guests. This intergenerational worship experience blends the beauty of tradition with a welcoming, contemporary spirit. You’ll hear inspiring music, thoughtful messages, and even a special time for children.
From September through June, our adult choir lifts their voices in song. In the summer, guest musicians share their gifts. We use projection to display prayers, lyrics, and sermon visuals. Communion is offered monthly and is always open to all.
You’ll be greeted by ushers who can help you find large-print hymnals, children’s activity sheets, and anything else you may need. And yes—we do have a gift bag for you! But don’t worry—we’ll never ask you to stand up or introduce yourself in front of everyone.
Kids & Sunday School
Our children’s Sunday School runs during the 9:30 service from Labor Day through Father’s Day. Kids are welcome to start in worship and then head to class after the children’s message. We believe that faith formation is a journey best walked together—at every age.
Stay for Coffee & Connection
After worship, you’re invited to join us in the Fellowship Hall for coffee, refreshments, and real conversation. This is where new friendships are formed, questions are welcomed, and the feeling of “home” starts to take root.
Let’s Build the Next Chapter—Together
This is a sacred moment in the life of Pleasant Street UMC. We honor the generations who’ve built this church with faith and love—and we’re ready to write the next chapter with people like you.
If you’re looking not just for a church to attend, but for a faith family to belong to and build with, we’d love to meet you. Whether you’re 22 or 82, single or raising kids, brand-new to faith or deeply rooted in Christ—there’s a place for you here.
Come home. Let’s grow together. Let’s serve boldly. Let’s become the church the next generation needs.
