A Choir That Lifts Hearts and Voices

“Rejoice! The Lord is King! Your Lord and King adore; Mortals, give thanks and sing,
And triumph evermore.”
Charles Wesley

The choir at Pleasant Street United Methodist Church is a joyful expression of faith, fellowship, and praise. Rooted in the rich Methodist tradition of congregational singing, our choir brings together voices of all backgrounds to glorify God through music that inspires, comforts, and calls us to deeper worship.

From beloved traditional hymns that have shaped generations of faith to contemporary sacred music that speaks to today’s hearts, our choir embraces a wide and meaningful repertoire. Each anthem and hymn is chosen not just for its beauty, but for its ability to draw the congregation into worship and reflect the living message of the Gospel.

In the Methodist tradition, music has always been central to spiritual life—John Wesley believed that singing was a powerful form of prayer. Our choir carries that legacy forward, offering music that teaches, encourages, and unites the church community. Whether leading the congregation in familiar hymns or presenting reflective choral pieces, the choir’s purpose is always the same: to lift voices in adoration and open hearts to God’s presence.

More than a musical ensemble, the choir is a ministry built on friendship, dedication, and shared faith. Rehearsals are filled with laughter, learning, and a genuine love for worship, creating a space where music and community grow together.

All are welcome to listen, to worship, and to join in. At Pleasant Street United Methodist Church, the choir’s song is an invitation—an invitation to praise God, to connect with one another, and to experience the power of worship through music.
